Steen, like many other NHL players, has found a place to work while the NHL remains in a lockout that looks like it has no end.
Steen is playing in his homeland in the Swedish Elite League and is excelling. Playing for Modo, Steen scored a goal in a 3-2 victory and now has three goals and nine points for his new, temporary club.
Steen will have a big role for the Blues once again when the lockout ends, serving as a key contributor not only on the Blues power play, but also their excellent penalty killing unit.
Steen will also be asked to play alongside rookie Vladimir Tarasenko. Steen will be the perfect mentor for Tarasenko and with the two paired with Andy McDonald, could be part of the Blues fastest, most explosive line.
Hopefully Steen can continue to play well in Sweden and remain injury free. Hopefully the NHL lockout can end soon too.
