Unfortunatley, Lohse was unable to make it out of the third inning and the Cardinals fell 9-0. The loss ended the Cardinals season, but did it also end Kyle Lohse's time in St. Louis?
Lohse will be a free agent this off-season and figures to cash in handsomely after such an outstanding season. Many would like to see the experienced right-hander back considering the numerous question marks surrounding the Cardinals rotation in 2013.
Adam Wainwright, Lance Lynn and Jake Westbrook will all be back in 2013. But the health of Jaime Garcia is in doubt and who knows how much more Chris Carpenter can really give. While some of the Cardinals veteran starters have question marks, there are plenty of young arms such as Joe Kelly, Trevor Rosenthal, and Shelby Miller who will be vying to break into the rotation, leaving general manager John Mozeliak with options.
Lohse and his agent Scott Boras will demand premium dollars to retain his services. Will, or should, Mozeliak spend the money to bring Lohse back? Or should Cardinals rely on what is returning in 2013? Has Kyle Lohse pitched his last game in St. Louis? Vote now!
