St. Louis Cardinals: Lance Lynn strikes out 10 against Reds

Coming off their 13-4 opening day loss to the Cincinnati Reds, the St. Louis Cardinals needed a big performance from starter Lance Lynn and on Tuesday night, they got it.

Lynn tossed six innings against the high-powered Reds lineup and allowed just one run on four hits while walking only one.

The most impressive thing about Lynn's performance was that he struck out 10 Reds' hitters.

Lynn threw 101 pitches and 66 of them were strikes and the big man from Ole' Miss relied heavily on his four-seem fastball, which sat around 93 miles per hour all night.

When Lynn threw his last pitch in the top of the sixth inning, he trailed 1-0. But thanks to a pinch-hit two-run blast by rookie Matt Adams, Lynn was in line for his first victory of the 2013 season.
